One of my favorite memories of my childhood in Ireland was looking forward to The Fall Guy every Monday night at 9PM (I think) on RTE. It was undoubtedly the most incredible thing I had ever seen and despite my then paltry 60 months of age, I was allowed special privileges to stay up and watch it.
This was, of course, a simpler time when there were only two TV channels available in our house/the whole of Ireland.
The Fall Guy was a two-fingered salute to the bog-boring fields of Glenroe, Bracken and Emmerdale Farm, and I loved every second of it.
Sometimes, if I was really good and hadn’t thrown any stones at passing cars that week (a Limerick City, youth pastime), my Dad would come home from the job site with a Mars Bar for me.
This could only be unwrapped later in the evening once The Fall Guy’s opening credits began rolling. I’d take my first bite out of the Mars, anxiously waiting to see what crazy villains would face Colt, Howie and Jodi, marveling at the fact that it was the simplest things in life that brought the greatest pleasures.
Cut to twenty or so years later and I find myself living blocks away from some of the locations in The Fall Guy’s opening sequence.
I’d always wondered where my desire to be in Hollywood came from. Looking up The Fall Guy on YouTube recently, I got my answer.
Even in the harsh, HDTV light of day this still stands up as a phenomenal show featuring, arguably, one of the greatest theme tunes ever written.
There’s nothing else to say really, except…
I’m never seen with anything less than a nine, so fine
I might fall from a tall building,
I might roll a brand new car.
‘Cause I’m the unknown stuntman that made Redford such a star
Celebrate The Fall Guy with me this Wednesday 16th June, 8PM at Crane’s… in Hollywood
I’m done with those. Just give me the fucking iPad for being awesome.

how does this still only have 52 notes jesus christ
are people aware the US news isn’t really talking about this, and that by spreading this around, we’re taking it upon ourselves to raise awareness? How can an audio post of fucking Lou Bega have over 65,000 notes when this doesn’t even have 70?
People in Libya are being killed by their government, the one that is supposed to protect them. Help them.
